Gourmet coffee is drink of necessity among adults, and surprisingly even teenagers around the world. It is sold in a variety of different styles such as ground, french roast, dark roast, double roast, light roast, and medium roast. Coffee contains the substance known as caffeine is a stimulant and can enhance feelings of well-being, and wakefulness. Consequently, like other stimulants, coffee is addictive and is a type of drug, in that it is psychoactive.

If one is to concede that coffee is legitimately a drug, however, they must also concede the fact that it is a benign one. Though it's benign, it is not without its effects. Some of these effects are more desirable and even useful while others less so. It's worth mentioning that white, black, and green tea contain caffeine as well, though at a substantially decreased concentration. The question that many people then face is: how much is too much, and when is the best time to drink it?

Coffee has a relatively long half-life, and is known to disrupt the circadian rhythm even many hours after it's been drank. For this reason it is critical that you drink it an adequate length of time before bed, and frequently this duration will be much greater in length than one might expect. For most folk this means you probably shouldn't drink coffee any later than noon if you'd like to prevent it from impacting your sleep.

Because of the fact that caffeine is a drug like any other, once tolerance builds many people discover themselves creeping up on an ever higher dose. Instead of imbibing a single cup of gourmet coffee they may have four, or five. The truth is, the more copious amounts of coffee that you imbibe the greater chances are that you'll have some of it still in your blood somewhere by bedtime. This may prevent you from ever achieving that extremely deep, restorative level of sleep.

Coffee isn't all horror and doom, though. Gourmet coffee does have some legitimate benefits as well. Just one such benefit is the unusual effect it has on weight lifting and aerobic endurance. Coffee by one means or another is able to cause a physical boost, which is the reason for which so many athletes consume some before a fitness session. It's also been shown to reduce the risk of stroke in females. Do be careful, though! Consumption of caffeine has also been associated with atrial fibrillation.

Great scott! You've made it to the end of the article. See some of my other creative endeavors here: top gourmet coffee brands, and acc cingulotomy.

For hundreds of years people from countries all across the world have savored it both for its health properties and for its unique flavor. Tea has been a main part of people's diets in the eastern world as well as of places in the west, like Great Britain. Today it remains a main staple in the modern American diet, at least in part due to the versatility of its flavor properties.

Some teas are treasured because they provide the perfect accompaniment to petit fours and finger sandwiches at a traditional afternoon tea party, while others are enjoyed for the calming and rejuvenation properties they confer after a long workout routine. Some people enjoy a mild cup of Chamomile Tea as part of their relaxing nightly routine, while others savor a good strong cup of Black Tea in the morning as part of a wake up routine.

Tea comes in a variety of all-natural, herbal blends, many of which have been shown to possess great health properties. For example, many teas are rich in antioxidants, which help the body defend itself against free radicals in the atmosphere and against the potential onset of many forms of cancer. Green tea in particular is often cited as one of the single healthiest, most anti-oxidant rich natural products in the world. Many scientists cite its pervasive presence in the Japanese dietary regime as a major source of their population's lower rates of cancer and better overall health.

While it has never been doubted that tea has numerous potential health benefits, it has only recently been discovered that its common counterpart, coffee, may also have health properties which are beneficial for the human mind and body. In the past decade scientists have begun to analyze the chemical composition of the coffee bean, and, as a result, have found that dark coffee, like tea, is very rich in antioxidants. Due to recent studies it has been suggested that daily coffee drinking may help with memory preservation and with the prevention of certain types of common cancer.

For decades coffee drinks have been enjoyed both for their potent caffeine properties and for the unique, bold flavour of the black coffee bean. Many people enjoy sharing a good cup of cappuccino with an old group of friends, while others savor their daily break from work with a cup of dark, bold espresso. Thus whether it is enjoyed for its delicious, smooth flavor or for the rejuvenation it provides, coffee is beloved by thousands of Americans.

Like tea, coffee drinks come in a variety of flavors. Unlike tea, however, coffee beans from different parts of the world will reflect the unique climate and soil properties of their origins. One type of coffee grown in one part of the world will have a different flavor when harvested then one grown elsewhere.

Another significant difference between tea and coffee is that coffee is more often enjoyed with more additives and condiments. While tea is typically savored with just a bit of sugar or milk, coffee drinks often come with a vast array of additives, such as different types of milk, sweetener, or syrup. Thus while both tea and pure coffee have many nutritional properties, many coffee drinks provide a less healthy alternative to tea because they are often in calories, fat, and sugar.

Both coffee and tea are enjoyed for their nutritional and taste properties, yet any lover of either beverage can tell you that the two are very different beverages.

Damian Papworth loves using one cup coffee makers for a quick morning beverage. When he has people over for dinner though, his 8 cup coffee maker is very handy.

The first think that most people do as soon as they come out of the bathroom is to head to the kitchen counter and switch on the coffeemaker. This is almost a ritual everyday. When ever two people want to discuss something, they first pick up two mugs of coffee. All over the world the trend is the same, people drink coffee several times a day. Have you ever wondered how coffee could be affecting your health?

Coffee beans does contain healthy nutrients that helps our body but then when in the process of curing coffee, additives are mixed either to get a better shelf life or flavors etc, harmful additives too are used which are not good for the body. But then we do not know about it because we do never check the ingredients of the coffee pods that we buy. Then there are good additives that are used with coffee powder too which promote very good healthy benefits for us.

Ganoderma Lucidum is one such additive that has very good health benefits for the human beings and has been used by the Chinese doctors for over 5000 years as a medicine. This is added to the coffee to make it healthy beverage.

Besides curative and medicinal properties for which Ganoderma Lucidum is famous for , it is used widenly due to its antioxidant properties . Ganoderma Lucidum is made from Lingzhi mushrooms available in plenty in China.

If you drink a cup of coffee with Ganoderma Lucidum in the morning you are likely to fell much better and energetic than drinking the regular coffee that is mixed with chicory, toxins and other harmful chemicals. You can feel the difference in your body health almost immediately.

Drinking healthier coffee gives you double benefit of health as well as wealth. Wonder how? Read on.

Quite a few companies are selling healthy coffee through network marketing. So when you introduce healthy coffee to your friends and extended family, you get to earn an income.

You will be doing everyone a favor by getting them to switch from the addictive coffee to good healthy coffee ad are likely to be thanked by the others for doing so.

The discussions and arguments can go on endless for and against the coffee as a beverage. However if it makes good sense in terms of health as well as financial benefit for you why will you or any body for that matter not consider switching over from normal coffee with harmful additives to the medicinal coffee with healthy additives.

Tea and coffee are two beverages with very rich histories. There?s a whole culture surrounding these beverages. You don?t just drink coffee or tea; usually, it?s a social event or an event invested with ritualized meaning. Here is a brief glimpse at the history of these two very significant beverages.

According to ancient legend, coffee was first discovered in Ethiopia, where it grew wild. Goat herders made the realization that their goats, after eating the coffee berries, couldn?t keep still and couldn?t sleep during the night. There?s another story about a dissident who was sent into the desert to die of starvation. The man, whose name was Omar, and his disciples happened upon the coffee plant and in despair, they ate it. It was the coffee plant that saved their lives. They made it to a nearby town called Mocha, where local residents saw it as a miracle.

Coffee was first brewed in around 1000 AD, according to researchers. Sufi monasteries in Yemen in southern Arabia were said to drink coffee regularly enough for it to be mentioned. It seems that coffee made its way from Ethiopia to Egypt and Yemen. Arabians are credited with roasted and brewing coffee in the manner that we are accustomed to today. Coffee spread to the rest of the Middle East and northern Africa by the middle of the 15th century. From there it spread to Italy and the rest of Europe, then to Indonesia where it was then transported to America.

The Arabians weren?t keen to share their precious coffee beans; so in order to make sure no one else could grow them, they cooked or boiled the beans, making them infertile. However, according to one tale, an Indian by the name of Baba Budan smuggled out some fertile beans by taping them to his belly. This way, coffee arrived in Venice and spread all around Europe.

The Dutch began importing coffee in significant amounts, defying the Arab prohibition in 1616. They then took their crop to Java and Ceylon. Exports of Indonesian coffee to the Netherlands took place around 1711.

Today, coffee is drunk the world over. Brewing the perfect cup has become something of an art form. It?s not just water and beans, but rather, temperature, water quality, roast and care.

Tea has a long and varied history too. It can be traced back to ancient China. The emperor Shen Nung is credited with discovering tea about 5,000 years ago. As a wise and learned man, the emperor passed an edict that all water should be boiled before it was drank. One day, while the emperor and his court were traveling, they stopped for some water. The servants set up the pot to boil it and some dried leaves from a bush fell into it, making tea. The emperor, always inquisitive, tasted the new concoction and was delighted. This was the birth of tea.

Tea was big in ancient China. Lu Yu wrote a comprehensive book on tea in the year 800 AD describing cultivation methods, tea drinking practices and rituals. The book became very popular.

Tea was first introduced to Japan by the Buddhist priest Yeisei who had been in China and saw first hand how it enhanced meditation practices. Tea was an immediate hit. Soon an art form was erected around tea and the famed Japanese Tea Ceremony was created.

Europe came to know tea by way of a Portuguese priest who brought the drink back by way of the East in 1560. Since then tea has become very popular.

As soon as most women get to know they are pregnant, the first thing they are ready to give up is caffeine from their lives. It is basically done to ensure no harm is inflicted on the baby growing each day inside them.

As soon as most women get to know they are pregnant, the first thing they are ready to give up is caffeine from their lives. It is basically done to ensure no harm is inflicted on the baby growing each day inside them.

Most of the elder women in the family may inform you otherwise, saying that they did not make efforts of excluding caffeine from their daily diet, and their babies turned out just fine. However, any recent research report that you will come across will provide evidence for caffeine causing serious complications for pregnant women. For example, low weight of babies and pre-mature births.

To bring about changes, you need to know how much caffeine won't be harmful. Most doctors recommend taking less than 300 milligrams per day.

Pregnant women who take more than this cause a risk of serious complications for their babies, especially if they are doing so during the first trimester.

Most women become more aware about the quality of food being consumed during pregnancy. This is another reason why they may cut down on caffeine as it has no nutritional value.

Caffeine, being a stimulant is another reason why it should be avoided, as it increases the heart rate and may result in a severe condition of sleeplessness, such as insomnia. This would further cause problems such as stress for the baby.

Thirdly, it also causes heartburn. Heartburns can be much of a trouble to bear, with caffeine increasing its intensity.

So you don't have to necessarily ban caffeine completely from your life while you are pregnant. But you should know how to control its levels. Decaf coffees also consist of some, and this should be considered while drinking it.

There's more to drinking coffee than just walking into a shop and asking for a small, medium, or large cup of whatever the house blend is. The amount of time and effort it takes to grow and harvest coffee beans around the world deserves a little more respect from the average consumer, especially since the delicate taste you get has nothing to do with the barista at Starbucks, and more to do with faraway volcanic slopes and mountain ridges.

Yes, what really makes coffee taste great are the beans themselves, or the special regions in countries around the world where the weather gets together to create the perfect growing environment. To learn a little bit more about the world's different coffee producing regions, as well as the most popular beans, you needn't look any further than this handy guide, which will teach you how to make the best possible pot of coffee around just by learning which brands to select.

Sulawesi Toraja Kalossi One of the most popular and rare varieties of Arabica coffee around, these coffee beans grow at extremely high altitudes on the island of Sulawesi. The coffee is full-bodied, slightly more acidic than the similar Sumatra blend, and known for its fruit and dark chocolate undertones. As far as Malaysian coffee goes, this is one of the finest beans coming out of the area, and it commands high prices.

Kape Barako One of the types of coffee grown in The Philippines, not many people are familiar with Kape Barako, because of an infestation of Coffee Rust in the 1990s that almost wiped out the plants forever. A type of Liberica species, the coffee, when available, is popular with gourmets, who enjoy a blend where it's mixed with Arabica to get the best tasting coffee with a distinct aroma.

Costa Rican coffee Not as well known as Columbian coffee by any means, Costa Rica has long been a country where coffee was a hugely important cash crop. The most popular varieties of beans are West Valley, Tres Rios, and Tarrazu, which are known worldwide for their very good body and aroma, as well as a level of acidity that's rather manageable. These coffee beans are used in blends frequently.

Kopi Luwak Always wanted to try a coffee made from beans that have already been eaten and digested? Well, you might have done that inadvertently, with Kopi Luwak coffee beans. Grown in Java, the coffee is some of the most popular around, all thanks to Asian Palm Civits, which love the coffee beans, eat them, and then digest them in a remarkable process that adds more flavor for us humans later. Apologies in advance if coffee was just ruined for you forever.

Remember, while different countries all produce different types of beans, it doesn't mean that the names on this list are the only type of coffee bean grown in that particular country. Furthermore, it is possible that many of these beans have shown up in different names and varieties through United States importers.

Now that you know the history of some of the world's more popular types of coffee, including the coffee beans they're made from, you can hold your own at a number of dinner conversations, as well as make a more informed choice in the grocery store. Best of all, you'll be able to choose beans that lead to a greater cup of morning coffee, for yourself and your family.

For a sizable weekend BBQ, Damian Papworth's 8 cup coffee maker comes in real useful. On any other typical day though, one cup coffee makers are more appropriate.

With all the different drinks out there, it's tough sometimes to know the difference between a soy latte and a caffe latte. Besides, who really cares, as it couldn't be that different, right? Wrong. The differences are huge between types of coffee beverages. Here's a cheat sheet for the next time you don't know what to order, or don't quite understand how something is made.

First, though, it's important for understanding styles of coffee to recognize some key names for when you're ordering a coffee the next time you're in Italy, or at a great restaurant in your own town. You've probably said at least one of these names before, but maybe you don't know what really goes into the drink. Well, now you're going to:

Caffe Latte Also referred to as Cafe au Lait, this is probably the pinnacle, besides the cappucino, of coffee-related drinks. Definitely the most popular styles of coffee around the world are usually variations on this, with some flavors thrown in here and there (a mocha, after all, is just this plus chocolate). The foam on top? Steamed milk, which is also what's mixed into the drink along with the espresso. Basically, you're just drinking espresso with milk.

Mocha Anytime you see the word mocha on a drink, it means that there's some sort of chocolate flavor, usually from syrup, that's been added. For instance, a caffe mocha is a cup where there's a layer of chocolate at the bottom that's then topped with steamed milk, espresso, and usually chocolate shavings or sprinkles.

Caffe Creme A number of different styles of coffee just involve a couple of variations to change the end result. Here, your coffee is brewed right from the beans, resulting in a non-milk layer of foam, referred to as crema, on top of the drink itself. No dairy is involved, but the taste is surprisingly smooth, considering.

There's more to knowing about styles of coffee than just remembering some of the key names to the drinks. It's even more important to know some of the processes--i.e. what heats the beans. Here are a couple of the most popular:

The French Press This is also known as bodum, cafetiere, and the press pot. Sound confusing? It's a bunch of different names, not styles of coffee. Here, a glass container has a plunger attached, where you add near-boiling water, coffee, and then press the coffee, which is ground coarsely, down with the plunger after a few moments sitting in the boiling water. The system works to filter the coffee and leave a superior-tasting product.

The Fully Automatic Espresso Machine From semi-affordable versions given as wedding gifts to machines that literally cost the same amount as sports cars, Italy definitely perfected yet another mechanical device when the guys up in Milan invented this. For over a hundred years, these have made the best coffee you could get your hands on, and families are known for bringing over specific machines for their restaurants to do well. It basically grinds, measures, heats, and makes shots of espresso automatically. Amazing!

For the at-home folks, there's also a stovetop version of an espresso machine, which is a cross between a coffee pot and a percolator. Of course, the Americans amongst us are used to a different style of coffee entirely, with the Mr. Coffee drip system, which unfortunately is accurately known for producing slightly sub-par tasting cups of coffee, even when great beans are used.

So now that you're equipped with the names of a couple of drinks, as well as some at-home processes to getting a solid cup of coffee, there's no reason to freeze up the next time you're out at a fancy restaurant and everyone else is ordering coffee-related drinks that you don't quite understand. Once you get the basic vocabulary down, learning the styles of coffee and how to order them and make them at home is a simple undertaking. Bottoms up!

Damian Papworth just bought a sparkling 2 cup coffee maker, he reviewed it at the One Cup Coffee Makers website.

Truth be told, it seem that everybody responds to food items differently. Some things that stand out in my mind are nuts and assorted nut products. Then there are people who could consume just about anything.

I know that one of my most "triggering" food items is good old caffeine. My body does a good job of telling me when I have consumed too much caffeine. I get some brutal "caffeine headaches", just to name one side effect.

But being honest here, it would be really difficult for me to start the day without that proverbial morning "cup of coffee". There's just something special, or should I really say stimulating, about that first cup. I truly don't believe I could function without it.

Unfortunately, my consumption of straight up java in the early hours of the day does not go without its unique effects. Caffeine withdrawal is the newly recognized disorder that is getting a lot of attention lately. I guess I really have to be a little concerned about my excessive caffeine consumption.

Speaking only for myself, I know if I don't get my caffeine jolt in the morning and throughout the course of the day, I can be a different person. Associates as well as family members say I am a bit "cranky", and seem to have a short fuse. I tend to disagree, but I am not on the outside looking in.

If it wasn't for those pounding caffeine headaches I have, and a bit of the jitters, I probably wouldn't have any side effects at all. But then again, who wants to deal with them all day. So perhaps there is some truth to this "caffeine withdrawal" disorder they have been speaking about.

What we do have to remember is that everybody is different. Caffeine may not bother you as it does me. Checking with a physician is always a good idea if you are having any symptoms. I know for me it would be a tough thing to give up. But if less side effects is a goal, I just might have to concede.

There are so many things now that pregnant women are told not to eat or drink that the mind boggles. One of the first ones that we give the elbow to is caffeine. This is often very difficult as we are well used to our daily consumption of coffee. It's the feat of causing damage to our unborn child that keeps us focused and able to give it up.

The key question is; how much caffeine is safe to consume on a daily basis? Well, the experts tell us that anything under 300mg a day is fine. This roughly equates to an 8 ounce cup.

So how much can we drink and still stay safe? 1 8 ounce cup filled with strong coffee is fine, as this gives you 300mg of caffeine that you have to stick to.

The first trimester is the time when you have to be extra careful anyway, and more than 300 milligrams of caffeine can further increase the risk of suffering carriage.

Yet another good reason for giving up caffeine is the fact that it is a stimulant. This means that it increases your heart rate and can also cause headaches and insomnia. Both if these can put unnecessary stress on your unborn child.

All of us have drank coffee at some time or another to keep us awake, as it is a stimulant. The side effects of this, however, are a raised heart rate, headaches and insomnia.

To sum it up, cutting out caffeine altogether is highly recommended, but if you feel that you still need your coffee, keep to guidelines of 300mg per day or less.

There is a great misconception regarding decaf. Although the amount is greatly reduced, it does still contain caffeine. So by changing you can have an extra cup or two, but don't drink it in the quantity that you used to or you will go way over your 300mg without even realizing it.

Aside from Healthy Practice, this author additionally frequently pens articles about Rancilio Silva espresso machine and commercial coffee machines.

Do you love to drink coffee? Does drinking a cup of coffee jump-start your day or kick starts your brain? Perhaps you want to prepare for your upcoming exam and you need an extra jolt. Or maybe you want to give your metabolism a boost.

Coffee can and will help you get to that level but you need to drink with moderation. Most people think that coffee can relax and smooth your worried and achy mind. It can and the industry has grown exponentially. While relaxing you, you also get some health benefits as well.

Is Coffee As Healthy As People Say It Is?

If you have it brewed or instant, coffee delivers the exact same health benefits. One thing to note though is that coffee is also a powerful stimulant and should be taken with moderation. A moderate intakes of coffee consists of 4 cups or less. In addition, if the coffee is brewed very strong, like espresso, then the servings should be less.

This is because of the caffeine content of each cup. If the coffee is weaker then you can have upwards of 5 cups. I don't recommend anymore than that. Coffee can have both beneficial mental and physical effect on your body.

For example, it can get rid of you feeling tired. It can also improve short-term memory and enhance your mental performance. Caffeine can also help stimulate your brain for better memory. The peak performance of the brain occurs during the early part of the day.

As time passes, your memory capabilities lessen as each hour passes. However, the studies presented that if you drank some coffee during the day, the said performance in the morning was achievable in the afternoon.Decaffeinated coffee doesn't offer any memory enhancing properties. With decaf, there were no performance benefits with memory.

Health Benefits of Coffee

So just be aware of the amount of caffeine you take in with each serving. Another benefit of coffee is that it is able to increase blood pressure. This is important for anyone suffering from low blood pressure. If you or someone you know have low blood pressure, it's important that you talk to your doctor about making coffee intake a part of your daily dietary needs. Having low blood pressure can lead to blacking out or fainting.

Another alternative to coffee is green tea. However the caffeine quantities are much lower and you would need to consume more servings.

Healthy Antioxidants

Coffee also has antioxidants that could help safeguard the body's systems from cancer. Antioxidants assist slow lower the oxidation harm to out bodies. Since the body uses the oxygen for that different systems, it creates something called, free of charge radicals.

It's these free radicals that may lead to heart ailments, diabetes and cancer. So getting antioxidants as component of your nutritional diet is essential.

So, give thanks towards the wonderful cup of Joe and make it component of the morning or day. Your body will thank you for it.
